An Australian man charged over the death of a New Zealand tourist who plummeted from his apartment balcony after the two began arguing during a date has been found not guilty of murder.

Killer Adrian Ernest Bayley will be 76 before he is eligible for parole for the murder of Irishwoman Jill Meagher.

Even Adrian Bayley himself told police he should never have been let out of jail.
