I WELCOME Dr Sarah Alyn Stacey’s acknowledgement that men are also victims of sexual harassment, (Irish Examiner letters, November 6).

I CAN only agree wholeheartedly with Patrick McGinnity’s assertion (Irish Examiner letters, October 31) that men may also be the victims of sexual harassment and I regret, therefore, that he interpreted my letter (Irish Examiner, October 27) as signalling women to be exclusive in this respect.

IN her letter, Dr Sarah Alyn Stacey (Irish Examiner, October 27) refers to the guilty party in sexual harassment cases as “he”, indicating that she considers all such cases to be the fault of men.

ANTHEA ROWAN’S article on sexual harassment in the workplace (Irish Examiner, October 23) pointed up very well the importance of keeping cross-sex friendships at work in perspective.

STUART NEILSON’S poignant evocation of the bullying and injustice of disciplinary procedures in Ireland’s universities (Irish Examiner letters, October 18) serves as a timely reminder that no effective action is being taken by heads of universities, their officers and the academic unions to address the problem.
