A man took his own life in an explosion at the mine where he worked just hours after a review meeting at which he became upset when told of “weak points” voiced about him by colleagues, an inquest heard.

A MEMORIAL service took place yesterday at the Co Tipperary zinc mine where a 47-year-old father of three — whose partner is due a baby this summer — lost his life in an explosion earlier this week.
