Afghan leader Hamid Karzai today called on international peacekeepers to help track down the killers of a vice president murdered in the heart of the capital.

Two French members of the international peacekeeping force in Afghanistan were seriously injured yesterday while clearing mines near the Kabul airport, an official said.

Wrapped in an Afghan flag, the body of slain Afghan vice president Abdul Qadir was carried today on the shoulders of his family members into the Eid Gah mosque in the capital Kabul where funeral prayers were said.
