A lawyer specialising in shareholder disputes claims Liverpool co-owner Tom Hicks’ request chief executive Rick Parry resigns is further evidence of the problems in resolving the long-term ownership of the club.

Liverpool’s season of boardroom turmoil took another astonishing turn today when co-owner Tom Hicks asked for the resignation of chief executive Rick Parry.

Tom Hicks is expected in London early next week to discuss the future of Liverpool with Dubai International Capital.

Liverpool co-owner George Gillett is still considering an offer from Dubai International Capital to buy his 50% stake in the club.
