DIY chain Atlantic Homecare has been placed in examinership following an application by the company to the High Court in Dublin today.

A man who drove a gunman to the scene of a shooting in Dublin last year has been found guilty of murder and jailed for life at the Central Criminal Court.

Heiton, building materials and owner of home improvement outlet Atlantic Homecare, has acquired Waterford-based plumbing firm Paddy Power and Company for a reported €5m.

Heiton, the building materials supplier and home improvement outlet chain, said interim profits were up 29% because of continued growth in the residential property market.
