IRELAND and other EU countries have agreed to take steps to ensure poultry does not come into contact with wild birds that may carry the avian flu virus.

AS FEARS grow of bird flu spreading to Europe, Department of Agriculture vets have said that the risk to Ireland remains low and they are monitoring poultry closely.
