The couple who gatecrashed a White House state dinner for India’s prime minister will invoke their right to silence if they are made to appear before the US Congress over the security breach.

MICHAELE and Tareq Salahi didn’t look out of place at Tuesday’s White House state dinner. They were all smiles as they rubbed shoulders with Vice President Joe Biden, White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel, Washington Mayor Adrian Fenty and CBS News anchor Katie Couric.

The US Secret Service launched an urgent investigation into its own security procedures after a couple gatecrashed a glittering White House state dinner for the Indian prime minister and posted the pictures on Facebook.
