Members of Iraq’s constitution drafting committee signed the draft constitution today after some amendments, Shiite committee member Khaled al-Attiyah said.

Shiite negotiators have offered their final compromise offer to the Sunnis and Kurds to break the impasse over the new Iraqi constitution, a member of the Shiite committee said today.

Approval of Iraq’s new constitution may end up out of the hands of politicians, after a third deadline for various factions to agree on a draft expired.
