Brendan Jones’ closing round of 66 helped the 35-year-old Australian claim the Asia-Pacific Panasonic Open by one shot from Ryuichi Oda.

The new US Open champion Graeme McDowell will have to wait until just before 2pm on Thursday when he tees off with two former winners of that title, Jim Furyk and Geoff Ogilvy at the Open in St Andrews.

Ryuichi Oda claimed his first career title in a Japan Tour major as he came out on top of a three-way play-off at the Japan Open today.
