Snow brought British racing virtually to a halt today but the sole surviving meeting at Southwell proved fertile ground for Lincolnshire trainer Conor Dore.

Komreyev Star, who ended Ray Peacock’s seven-year wait for a winner at Southwell a month ago, ensured the next one would not be quite so long in coming by repeating the trick over the same course and distance.

Eric’s Charm is a more than useful performer on his day and he should be the star turn at tomorrow’s sole jumps meeting at Folkestone, where he bids for his first chasing success.
