A High Court judge has warned of a “tsunami” of homicide and rape prosecutions if internet drinking contests continue.

Young people are risking their lives by taking part in a social media drinking game linked to two deaths over the weekend, say mental health experts and youth representatives.

Search ‘neknomination’ or ‘necknomination’ (spelling can vary) on Twitter, Vine, Facebook, or YouTube and you’ll find thousands of videos of young people speed-drinking vast quantities of alcohol in response to a dare from friends.
