An incident which led to the death of a Dublin man when he was run over by a limousine after jumping on the bonnet was a tragic misunderstanding, Dublin Coroner’s Court has heard.

A dangerous-driving-causing-death trial has heard gardaí believed two friends of the accused had possibly “concocted” their stories because their statements were so similar.

A Dublin man was charged with possession of explosives and membership of the IRA at a special sitting of the Special Criminal Court today.

The Special Criminal Court has remanded five men in custody today after they were charged with being members of the INLA.
