Barclays, the UK’s second- largest bank by assets, has spoken with regulators, customers, and authorities about what appears to be a criminal leak of customer account information.

It has been a chaotic week for investors, with shocks coming from major companies on both side of the Atlantic.

BARCLAYS, Britain’s second-largest bank by assets, is eliminating about 3,000 jobs this year as second-quarter investment banking profit fell by more than 25%.

British bank Barclays has agreed to buy at least some of the investment banking and trading operations of Lehman Brothers.
