Israel pounded Gaza for the second day in a row today, trading airstrikes and rocket fire with Palestinian militants and killing 15 of them as the deadliest Gaza violence in over a year showed no signs of abating.

THE United Nations will transfer tons of goods to Gaza from the international flotilla attacked by Israeli naval commandos two weeks ago under a new agreement with Israel, Israel’s military said yesterday.

The Israeli military said today that an agreement has been reached with the United Nations to deliver tons of aid to Gaza carried on a flotilla attacked by Israeli commandos last month.

Israel’s Security Cabinet will meet today to consider a possible prisoner exchange with Hamas, freeing hundreds of Palestinian prisoners for a soldier captured in June 2007.
