A GROUP of elite cadets from the US military academy at West Point will this week visit schools in Limerick to share with hundreds of primary students the excitement that engineering and science have to offer.

Police were today trying to determine whether a man shot dead while pumping petrol in Virginia was the latest victim of the sniper who has terrorised the Washington area for a week.

Three letters contaminated with anthrax all were dated September 11, the same day as the terrorist attacks on New York and Washington, and contained anti-American and anti-Israel messages, US officials said.
