I WAS amazed to read the comments of David Duke and Ray Larsen of the Ku Klux Klan concerning Justice Minister Michael McDowell’s efforts to “to protect the (Irish) people from immigrants” (Irish Examiner, July 15).

I FIND it rather enlightening that both the Ku Klux Klan's Ray Larsen, and Áine Ní Chonaill of the Immigration Control Platform used the term 'invasion' to describe the immigration situation in their respective countries (Irish Examiner, July 15).

JUSTICE Minister Michael McDowell has rejected an endorsement from the Ku Klux Klan after its former leader thanked him for "trying to protect the people against immigrants" after last month's citizenship referendum was passed.
