A Venezuelan transsexual who was convicted as a man on a charge of helping to run a brothel arrived in the appeal court yesterday as a woman, hoping to have the case dismissed.

A Venezuelan transsexual dressed in lingerie answered the door to Cork detectives investigating a reported brothel, but the accused denied a charge yesterday of being party to the use of the premises as a brothel.
