A YOUNG heroin addict who claimed she might lose her arms if she did not get treatment for her addiction has been granted bail by Dublin District Court to enable her take part in a detoxification programme.

The Tánaiste says she believes the crisis in the country's Accident and Emergency units has turned the corner.

A 26-year-old Dublin woman who has been a heroin addict since the age of 15 is expected to appear in court today after a bench warrant was issued for her arrest.
