The family of Maura Reynolds is today calling on the Government to immediately implement new regulations governing nursing homes.

A JURY has found that an elderly woman who went missing from a nursing home on Christmas night and whose remains were found more than two years later on Bray Head had left the facility at least two hours earlier than staff at the home maintained.

THE family of Maura Reynolds, the elderly woman missing since vanishing from a nursing home two years ago, have described as “disgusting” the €2,000 fine imposed on the home owners for failing to take proper care of her.

AN ELDERLY woman who is presumed dead after disappearing from a nursing home might have been recovered if staff had followed proper procedures in caring for her, a judge has said.
