The Spanish prime minister is making an emergency visit to the Canary Islands today to assess raging wildfires that have forced the evacuation of 14,000 people.

MORE than 11,000 people were forced to evacuate in the Canary Islands yesterday as firefighters struggled to extinguish fires on two of the archipelago’s popular tourist islands.

More than 11,000 people have been evacuated from homes and holiday resorts in the Canary Islands today.
