The Pat Doyle-trained Six Gun Serenade gave ample indication that a bright track career lies in wait by winning the four-year-old geldings’ maiden at yesterday’s well-attended Killeady Harriers point-to-point at Ballyarthur outside Fermoy.

Following an enforced 20-day break due to the inclement weather conditions, point-to-point racing returned to the Cork and Waterford region on Saturday as the rescheduled Tallow meeting (run under the auspices of the West Waterford Foxhounds) took place at Shanakill Cross outside Conna.

Robert Tyner left yesterday’s second-stage of the two-day South Union Foxhounds point-to-point festival at Farrangalway outside Kinsale virtually assured of victory in the trainers’ championship after saddling two winners on the six-race card.
