OUR worst fears about cutbacks at the state’s largest paediatric hospital putting children at risk are coming true, a patients’ campaign group has said.

DOCTORS only had themselves to blame for not making it clear that breast cancer can still be missed — even with the best systems in place, a leading member of the National Cancer Control Programme has claimed.

WHAT happened to women under the care of disgraced obstetrician Dr Michael Neary was appalling and should never happen again, said president of the Irish Hospital Consultants Association (IHCA) Dr Paul Oslizlok.

HOSPITAL consultants have urged the Government to provide an extra €1.4 billion in funding for the health service next year.
