A sudden thunderstorm on Tuesday evening in Killarney saw tourists run for cover roads flood, and shops close early in a weather event not seen for fifty years according to locals.

KILLARNEY fire brigade yesterday rejected claims its response to a fire in a halting site outside the town during Christmas was delayed because of a problem with opening locks on a barrier.
