Poteen was blamed by a man for assaulting two other men who intervened when he was rowing with his partner on the street in the early hours of the morning.

AN intoxicated man who reversed his van into a patrol car on two separate occasions while being pursued by gardaí and who swung a hammer at them has been sentenced to two years in prison.

Three men caught with drugs worth nearly €3m have been sentenced to a combined total of 21 years in prison by Judge Yvonne Murphy at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.
