Former president Patrick J Hillery was laid to rest yesterday following a state funeral in which the country did him and his family proud.

FORMER government minister Ivor Callely got a “parachute payment” of €31,754 after stepping down from his job for accepting a free perk, it was revealed yesterday.

FORMER Taoiseach Charles Haughey received pension payments of over €132,000 in 2004 as part of a €12 million pension bill for former Oireachtas members.
