Thousands of people mis-sold payment protection insurance (PPI) by six financial institutions are in line to be paid tens of millions of euro in compensation.

The Central Bank is looking at taking enforcement action against a number of banks for the mis-selling of payment protection insurance that could result in a payout of millions to duped consumers.
