Communications Minister Pat Rabbitte will come under renewed pressure today to hold a public inquiry into RTÉ’s Frontline presidential debate following fresh claims that Seán Gallagher was deliberately targeted by the State broadcaster.

RTE has denied allegations that they gave a 'Frontline' audience member a prepared question to put to the former presidential candidate.

The Minister of State for European Affairs, Lucinda Creighton, has said she thinks there should be a full public inquiry into the production and broadcast of the 'Frontline' Presidential debate last October.

Sean Gallagher has released a statement, alleging that RTE "failed to be impartial and fair" when it came to the production and broadcast of the 'Frontline' Presidential debate last October.

Former Presidential candidate Seán Gallagher is to issue a statement later this morning over reports concerning the Presidential Frontline debate which was the subject of a ruling against RTE by the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland.
