A Cork man who was described by his daughter as her “childhood monster”, has been jailed for 12 years for raping and sexually abusing her throughout her childhood.

The Court of Criminal Appeal today refused to grant the disclosure of information related to the 1974 Dublin Monaghan bombings, sought by Catherine Nevin as part of her attempt to have her murder conviction declared a miscarriage of justice.

RELATIVES of victims of the Dublin/Monaghan bombings have asked the High Court to order the Taoiseach to release documents from the McEntee Inquiry into the atrocity.

The Court of Criminal Appeal has reserved until autumn its decision on a State appeal to increase the sentences handed to two of the killers of Detective Garda Jerry McCabe.
