Golf fans will need to be up at the crack of dawn tomorrow to arrive in good time at Fota Island to watch the marquee draw in the first round of the Irish Open Championship.

Ireland reached the final of the European Men's Amateur Team Golf Championship in Scotland after a dramatic 4-3 win over England today.

GARY WOLSTENHOLME, the only Britain and Ireland amateur to feature on four winning Walker Cup teams, has been named in a provisional 29-strong squad for next August’s defence of the trophy in Chicago.

Scotland beat England 4-3 to win the European Amateur Youths’ Team Championship at the Island.
