I am breaking new ground on Thursday as I bring Bostons Angel to Lion D’Angers in France for the next leg of the Crystal Cup series of cross-country races.

It was great that the Grand National turned out to be such a good race and the best thing about it was that all the horses came home safely, as did the jockeys.

The humour improved this week after I managed to finally get a winner with Parramatta at Laytown on Thursday.

My thoughts this week are with Fran Berry as he recovers from the injuries he suffered as a result of a horrific fall from Caliente after the filly unfortunately broke her leg.

It has been an up-and-down week at Commonstown but the great news is that Dragon Pulse is back with us having spent the season in France.
