The mother of a teenager found stabbed to death in Killarney almost three years ago talked yesterday of the devastating effect the death of her eldest son has had on her family.

A 19-year-old student was found guilty of conspiring to assault a teenager two years ago on the night he died from a single stab wound.

Martin Ollo, the 19-year-old student accused of conspiring to assault teenager Stephen Lyne in June 2009 told how Shane Regan had “punched” Mr Lyne in the back.

A 19-year-old student on trial for conspiring to assault another teenager, who was found stabbed to death, had walked the boy home the previous night in order to protect him, the Circuit Criminal Court in Tralee heard from a prosecution witness yesterday.

AN 18-year-old student appeared before Judge James O’Connor at Killarney District Court, yesterday, on two conspiracy charges surrounding the unlawful killing of teenager Stephen Lyne in the town last year.
