In a month where many of us contemplate the laziness of summer holidays spent idling on the beach, increasing numbers of Irish people look to the exact opposite for their particular brand of leisure.

Up to 5,000 participants are expected to cycle through the streets of Cork City to help a charity fund the building of a new children’s centre.

The largest event of its kind in the world, Killarney Adventure Race, welcomed record numbers of 2,500 participants this year.

Killarney Adventure Race 2015 will take place in the picturesque tourist town of Killarney on October 3rd.
