One of two garda whistleblowers whose claims are now the subject of an independent inquiry says the former garda confidential recipient Oliver J Connolly has yet to explain his actions.

The former Garda confidential recipient has released a statement criticising members of the Oireachtas and sections of the media over the events which led to him being dismissed.

Oliver J Connolly was sacked by his erstwhile buddy, Justice Minister Alan Shatter, but there is absolutely no evidence of any wrongdoing on his part, writes Michael Clifford
