Bobby Browne is nothing short of a legend at Laytown and Bettystown and the 71-year old PGA professional was beaming on Saturday as the ladies claimed the AIG Senior Cup for only the second time in the club’s 105-year history — 26 years after their breakthrough win in 1988 — with victory over a youthful Killarney. 

A DOUGLAS side unrated before the matches began put up a great battle in Saturday’s final of the Irish Ladies Cup at Cork Golf Club before conceding a 24th victory in the event to the powerful side from Royal Portrush.

Alison Murdoch has once again travelled from Canada to defend her Irish title at the ILGU Seniors Open Strokeplay Championship, Woodbrook Golf Club, September 11-12.
