Police and social workers apologised today for not protecting vulnerable schoolgirls who were sexually abused and exploited by a paedophile ring in the UK.

A CATHOLIC priest whose sexual abuse of seven schoolgirls in Britain was uncovered 30 years later after two women shared memories of him on the Friends Reunited website was jailed for one year yesterday.
