THE Augustinian Order has apologised to the Catholic hierarchy for allowing three of its priests to concelebrate the Eucharist in a 1916 Rising anniversary Mass with a Church of Ireland minister.

Three Catholic priests at the centre of a controversy after they concelebrated Mass with a Church of Ireland minister have apologised for their actions, it emerged tonight.

ARCHBISHOP OF Armagh, Dr Sean Brady, and his Church of Ireland counterpart, Archbishop Robin Eames, have launched investigations into an Easter Sunday Mass in Co Louth where a Church of Ireland minister concelebrated with priests in a Catholic Church.
