It’s been branded Ireland’s worst main street but, from October next, it will be transformed into one of the finest town thoroughfares.

It’s been dubbed the worst main street in Ireland and the patience of people using it is at breaking point after the NRA (National Roads Authority) said it wouldn’t be making any money available next year to repair it.

Respected coach and sports psychologist Brendan Hackett has been appointed the new chief executive officer of the Athletics Association of Ireland (AAI).
