A terrifying cross between Tyrannosaurus rex, a crocodile, and a whale was the largest predator ever to walk the Earth — or swim in its rivers.

A NEW type of giant flying reptile with a wingspan of six metres and which lived in the Sahara 95 million years ago has been discovered, scientists from University College Dublin said yesterday.

Two previously-unknown prehistoric creatures have been discovered by British scientists during a month-long expedition in the Sahara desert.
