The family of murdered schoolgirl Milly Dowler will press for “stronger, clearer and faster action” from the Government over phone hacking in meetings this week with senior politicians.

ACTOR Jude Law’s claim was named yesterday as one of the lead cases in the News of the World phone-hacking litigation.

The News of the World has publicly apologised to victims of the newspaper’s phone-hacking controversy, saying that the invasions of privacy “should not have happened”.

News of the World publisher News International was today preparing to pay out millions of pounds in compensation after it admitted liability for intercepting the telephone messages of a number of public figures including actress Sienna Miller.
