IT was the perfect homecoming for Dubliner Bernard Dunne who gave the his delighted fans the result they craved at the National Stadium on Saturday night, toying with game Jim Betts from Leeds.

JIM BETTS claimed at last evening’s weigh-in that he was in Dublin to spoil Bernard Dunne’s homecoming party at the National Stadium but the Irishman was having none of it.

BERNARD DUNNE is set to relaunch professional boxing in Ireland and will be joined by former Olympian Francis Barrett.

BOXING interest will be focused on Bethnal Green over the coming weeks in the build-up to Wayne McCullough’s long-awaited return but another Irishman has been quietly building a new professional career for himself in the area over the past year.
