Fears were growing today for the future of some Football League clubs after the administrators of loss-making broadcaster ITV Digital announced they were putting the business up for sale.

ITV Digital is to be sold as a going concern but administrators say the service to customers will continue.

The true extent of ITV Digital’s shaky finances could be revealed today when the Football League ask the High Court to release confidential documents withheld when the debt-laden broadcaster went into administration.
