A British Government minister was urged today to intervene in the case of an 'X Factor' reject who faces removal from the UK.

Rejected 'X Factor' hopeful Gamu Nhengu must leave the UK voluntarily, the UK Border Agency said today.

Claims that 'X Factor' reject Gamu Nhengu was kicked off the show because of worries over her immigration status were rubbished today as the clamour for her to be re-instated grew.

Cheryl Cole was reportedly told not to put Gamu Nhengu through to the 'X Factor' finals because of visa worries.
