The Dubliner who sent a pig’s head to the home of a Garda and his wife is set to be out of jail in time to get some autumn sun in Spain.

A Garda and his wife were forced to leave behind their life in west Clare after receiving a severed pig’s head in the post.

The man accused of sending a pig’s head in the post to the home of a garda told gardaí that “it is only a pig’s head, not a human head”.

The wife of a serving Garda told a court yesterday that she was “afraid, disgusted, and horrified” when a box containing a severed pig’s head was delivered to her home.
