CHELSEA blew the chance to put one foot in the Champions League knockout stage last night but their failure to beat Genk was overshadowed by another racism storm for the beleaguered club.

John Terry started on the bench for Chelsea’s Champions League clash in Genk on the night the Metropolitan Police confirmed they had launched a formal investigation into allegations he racially abused QPR defender Anton Ferdinand.
