GALWAY Hurdle hero Cloone River made a smashing start over fences when outclassing his rivals in the Meadowlands Hotel Beginners Chase at Tralee yesterday.

PAT HUGHES, whose Cache Creek bolted in at Leopardstown, landed the featured Murphy’s Handicap Hurdle at Killarney last night with Blue Away.
