Turkish police detained 52 military commanders for allegedly planning to blow up mosques in order to trigger a military takeover and overthrow the Islamic-oriented government.

TURKISH authorities have detained at least 24 ultra-nationalists, including two prominent retired generals, in a widening police investigation into a suspected coup plot against the government.
