Fixed charge notices issued for speeding offences decline 9%

Transport Minister Paschal Donohoe yesterday predicted “many” rural roads are likely to see their maximum speed limit cut from 100km/h to 80km/h under new guidelines.

The inspirational woman whose family was wiped out in a horror holiday crash has pleaded with motorists to drive carefully over the Christmas period.

So far this year, 191 people have died on our roads, one more than for the whole of 2013 and 29 more than in 2012.
