British supermarket chain Asda today apologised unreservedly for a press release which criticised Bloomsbury, the publisher of the new Harry Potter book, paving the way for a settlement of the dispute between the two.

Harry Potter publisher Bloomsbury is today hoping to resolve a row with Asda in time for Saturday’s release of the final book in the series.
