IRELAND will use its Presidency of the European Union to garner continuing support for relief efforts in southern Iran, development minister Tom Kitt promised yesterday.

The Government today pledged €1m worth of aid for victims of the earthquake in Iran.

The Minister for Development Co-operation and Human Rights has urged reform of the European Court of Human rights.
